Partner - Construction

Manchester, London or Reading

Orwins is building its national practice and we are looking for an experienced construction lawyer to join us at partner level — bringing expertise, clients and ambition in equal measure.

We do law differently — straightforward, commercially focused and built around long-term client relationships. Construction law sits naturally alongside our growing property and commercial practices, and we are looking for someone who can build a practice that serves developers, contractors, consultants and employers across the full spectrum of construction and engineering work

Responsibilities

A construction lawyer with strong technical skills across both contentious and non-contentious work, an established or developing client base and the commercial drive to build a practice within a growing national firm.

Requirements

  • Leading the firm's construction practice — advising clients across contentious and non-contentious construction and engineering matters.
  • Drafting and negotiating construction contracts — JCT, NEC and bespoke forms — as well as professional appointments, warranties and security packages.
  • Advising on construction disputes — adjudication, arbitration and litigation — and supporting clients through the resolution process.
  • Working closely with the property team on development finance, plot sales and development agreements where construction issues arise.
  • Developing and growing a construction client base — supported by the firm's infrastructure and cross-referral network.

Benefits

At Orwins, we invest in our people just as much as our future. Our future is our people. This is a firm where your voice is heard, your contribution is recognised, and your development is taken seriously - not just talked about.

You will get genuine access to our C-Suite, senior partners, leaders and clients from day one, working closely with a team that values expertise, supports each other and takes pride in doing things well. We are growing fast, and the people who join us will grow with us too.
