The investment in Clarkslegal is a significant step in building a national law firm dedicated to providing a full range of legal services for ambitious and high-growth businesses and high net worth individuals.
Clarkslegal is a full-service commercial law firm headquartered in Reading, specialising in employment, corporate, commercial property and commercial litigation. The firm’s 40-strong team is led by nine partners, serving clients across the Thames Valley and beyond.
Orwins now has more than 140 staff across three commercial hubs - London, Manchester and Reading - with combined revenues of £23 million. The firm aims to at least double in size over the next two years, targeting revenues of over £50 million.
Following the investment in Clarkslegal, Dov Black, Chief Executive of Orwins, said:
“From the outset, there was clear cultural alignment between our two firms. Clarkslegal has an entrepreneurial, client-focused ethos very similar to our own and a complementary client base. They also have an exceptionally strong, talented team which further enhances the breadth and depth of our service offer.”
Monica Atwal, Managing Partner at Clarkslegal said:
“We are thrilled to be part of this exciting new chapter. BBS Law and Carter Bond, now united under Orwins, share a common ethos, culture and ambition with Clarkslegal. This investment will enable us to enhance the services we provide to our valued clients now and in the future, while giving our team a strong platform on which we can grow and thrive.”
Orwins is backed by Aliter Capital, who first invested in the group when it acquired Manchester-based BBS Law in October 2024 and Carter Bond in August 2025.
