Ben is a solicitor specialising in employment law, advising on unfair dismissal, discrimination, TUPE and wages claims. Unusually, he has acted for both employees and employers throughout his career, giving him a well-rounded understanding of Employment Tribunal matters from both sides of the table.
Before starting his training contract, Ben spent five years as a paralegal representing employees in Employment Tribunal proceedings, beginning with the charity Merseyside Employment Law before moving into private practice. Wanting to become a more rounded practitioner, he joined Peninsula, where he spent almost two years representing employers before commencing his training contract with the firm in July 2020.
During his training, Ben completed seats covering contentious and non-contentious employment law, commercial law, civil litigation, debt recovery, advocacy and data protection, with additional exposure to coroner's inquests and HSE prosecutions.
Ben completed his LLB Law degree in 2016 and his LPC in 2018, both at Liverpool John Moores University, and qualified as a solicitor in July 2025.
