Jamie joined OGR Stock Denton (now part of Orwins) as a paralegal, completed his training contract there and qualified as a solicitor in September 2013. He studied Law at the University of London and achieved a Commendation on the Legal Practice Course at the College of Law in Bloomsbury. He has been a full member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) since 2020.

His work spans wills, inheritance tax planning, probate, powers of attorney, trusts, lifetime planning and deeds of variation. He is known for the care and patience he brings to client relationships, and for finding practical solutions to complex problems.

Recent work includes creative CGT planning in a deed of variation that saved a client £20,000, negotiating with the district valuer to reduce the probate value of a property, and successfully obtaining a grant of probate while navigating conflicting jurisdictional laws and the absence of executors.

He has also worked with the Charity Commission to salvage a bequest intended for a charity that ceased to exist during administration, subsequently structuring the sale of a property to save capital gains tax.
