Tamara is a Partner at Orwins, handling a varied caseload of both commercial and residential property matters.
She trained with Manuel Swaden and qualified in 2006, becoming a partner in 2009. Tamara joined BBS Law (now Orwins) in April 2024 following the firm's acquisition of Manuel Swaden. She graduated with a law degree from Brunel University in 2003 and an LPC from the College of Law in 2004.
Tamara was drawn to the law for its logic, combining problem-solving with the ability to achieve practical outcomes for clients. She came to specialise in property law after starting out in employment and commercial litigation, finding the work's commercial focus and attention to detail immediately appealing.
She acts for ground-rent landlords in the acquisition of both completed and off-plan developments, and for large corporations in the disposal of multi-million-pound residential property portfolios. Tamara also has expertise in voluntary and statutory lease extension work and in advising residential landlords on non-contentious landlord-and-tenant matters arising from block management.
Tamara finds two distinct areas of property law particularly rewarding. Complex commercial portfolio and landlord-and-tenant matters appeal to her because careful risk management, negotiation, and efficient delivery can significantly impact commercial outcomes. And residential sales handled by attorneys or executors are equally important to her, as these transactions often occur under stressful or emotional circumstances, when clients value clear, calm support and straightforward advice throughout the process.
Tamara is commercial, thorough and solution-focused, with a calm, organised approach under pressure. She is responsive and collaborative, with a focus on progressing matters efficiently whilst managing risk and detail. Clients most often say they value her clear, practical advice, strong communication, availability, and personal service.
