The Legal 500 2027 has recognised Orwins with ten rankings across London, Manchester and the South East. The results include two new rankings for our commercial property teams and two Manchester teams moving up a tier. It’s a strong result that reflects the breadth of work, and the client success for businesses and individuals, that our teams deliver across the country.
For anyone choosing a law firm, independent rankings are one of the few reliable ways to see how a firm is regarded beyond its own website. The Legal 500 builds its rankings on detailed research, including feedback gathered directly from clients, so each ranking largely reflects what the people we work with say about the experience.
Commercial property recognised in three regions
This year is a standout result for our commercial property offering. In London, the team secured a new ranking for commercial property: corporate occupiers, recognising the excellent work on businesses acquisitions, and managing and restructuring the premises they operate from. Our Manchester commercial property team has also been ranked for the first time.
Alongside our continued ranking for commercial property in Beds, Bucks, Herts and Middlesex, this means our property practice is now recognised in all three regions where we have ranked teams. For clients with property interests in more than one part of the country, that consistency matters.
Manchester teams moving up
In Manchester, our corporate and commercial and commercial litigation teams have both moved up a tier. Both teams have grown their work with ambitious regional businesses over the past year, from transactions and investment through to resolving complex disputes, and we’re proud to see the directory and the clients who took part in its research recognise that.
Stephanie Roe recognised with Leading Partner status
In her first ranking under the Orwins name, Stephanie Roe has retained her Leading Partner status.
In September, it was announced that the boutique criminal and regulatory law firm Roe Lawyers joined Orwins, strengthening the firm's offering with specialist services in the crime and regulatory space.

Our teams in personal tax, trusts and probate, property finance, and across the South East have all retained their rankings. Sustaining a ranking year after year depends on consistently strong client feedback, so these results are every bit as meaningful as the new entries.
Dov Black, CEO, said: “We are delighted to see our teams recognised in this year's Legal 500 rankings. Achieving new rankings, improving our position in key practice areas and maintaining strong rankings across the group is a reflection of the talent, commitment and hard work of our people. We would also like to thank our clients for their continued support and for taking the time to provide feedback. These results give us great confidence that our strategy is working, and we remain focused on investing in our people, supporting our clients and continuing our growth journey.”
What is the Legal 500?
The Legal 500 is one of the most established independent guides to the legal market, published annually since 1987. Its researchers assess firms across practice areas and regions, drawing on firm submissions, interviews with lawyers and, most importantly, confidential client feedback.
Teams are ranked in tiers within each practice area, and each ranking includes editorial commentary and client testimonials. Because the research is carried out practice by practice and region by region, a ranking tells you something specific: how a particular team is regarded for a particular type of work, in the market where it operates.
We’re grateful to every client who contributed to this year’s research. If you would like to speak to any of our ranked teams, please get in touch.
